Frogs and snails and puppy dog tails

There has been a lot written about the differences between boys and girls. And having grown up with sisters, I never had a frame of reference. So what is it about little boys and mud? I think Ian has a built-in radar when it comes to finding it. This was the greeting I got when I picked him up from school Wednesday. He was covered in mud and proud of it, thanks to a fun game of keep-away on the playground. The choice between cleaning up or continuing to play was a no-brainer for him. As I write this, I remember childhood days of playing in the mud, too, sitting in a sandbox in West Plains, Missouri happily making mud pies. I guess we're not so different after all.
