It's a great story--the power of a simple string. It can bring people together. Ian first became interested in crocheting after spending some time with his cousin Rachel, a talented artist. She taught him the basic chain stitch and lent him a crochet hook. The process was mesmerizing, and the interest is contagious. Now Will wants to learn. He got a mini-lesson from Grandma D today. His first project--a scarf, which he had planned on giving me for Valentine's Day. After "measuring" the length (which he's seen Rachel do), he decided that he'd need until Mother's Day--just in time for the great spring weather:-)
